SafeGuard CryptoServer
Utimaco’s Hardware Security Module (HSM), offering the highest level of security for your data and business processes
SafeGuard CryptoServer is Utimaco’s tamper-resistant Hardware Security Module (HSM) product family that enables the secure generation, storage and processing of cryptographic keys and certificates during encryption and signature procedures.
Certified in accordance with the highest FIPS standards, SafeGuard CryptoServer provides highly flexible and powerful hardware security modules (HSM) that provide security for a wide range of business processes. These include identity management and PKI environments, document management and archiving solutions, database security and authentication, toll collection, as well as the securing of card-based payment transactions and other payment applications.
To address the different demands of physical security based on how a hardware security module (HSM) is used and applied, Utimaco offers two versions of SafeGuard CryptoServer that have been optimized to meet those different security requirements:
- SafeGuard CryptoServer S-Series
For common security requirements in commercial environments, developed in accordance with FIPS 140-2 Level 3. - SafeGuard CryptoServer CS-Series
For the highest level of security, certified in accordance with FIPS 140-2 Level 3, with Level 4 for physical security. This highest security level guarantees the active deletion of the contents of the Hardware Security Module (HSM) in the event of an attack.
SafeGuard CryptoServer can be integrated into existing applications easily using standard interfaces such as Microsoft CNG and CSP, PKCS#11, as well as JCE (Java Cryptography Extension). Furthermore, a dedicated development environment allows the product to be adapted to match customer-specific requirements.

SecurityServer, the "Hardware Security Module (HSM) standard solution" supports all common cryptographic interfaces such as Microsoft CNG and CSP, PKCS#11 and JCE. - SafeGuard TimestampServer
TimestampServer creates reliable and verifiable time stamps based on the international time stamp standard RFC 3161. - SafeGuard PaymentServer
PaymentServer provides functions for the secure processing of card-based payment transactions, as well as for the personalization of chip cards. - Software Development Suite (SDK)
SDK is a comprehensive development environment for SafeGuard CryptoServer. It enables the implementation of customer and project specific applications, protocols and algorithms, which run within the secured area of the Hardware Security Module (HSM).
