CryptoServer CS-Serie

Maximum security with the highest level of performance

The SafeGuard CryptoServer CS-Series is a Hardware Security Module which fulfils the highest physical security requirements. It contains special sensors which guarantee that all keys and certificates are actively deleted in the event of an attack. This enables the CS-Series, in comparison with the S-Series, to fulfil the requirements of the highest possible certification level with regards to physical security, FIPS – 140-2 level 4.

The SafeGuard CryptoServer CS-Series is therefore suitable for applications which require the highest possible level of security. This includes, amongst other, the processing of cashless payment transactions, which is why the CS-Series has received official accreditation from the ZKA (Zentraler Kreditausschuss – a joint committee operated by the central association of the German banking industry). Further typical areas of application with very high security requirements include the tamperproof recording of toll charges and the creation of electronic personal ID cards and passports. The CS-Series is also the ideal HSM platform for non-standard applications thanks to the Software Development Kit (SDK), which can be used for programming individual security solutions.

Utimaco offers two models in the CS-Series, in order to be able to satisfy diverse performance demands in different areas of application:

• SafeGuard CryptoServer CS10
• SafeGuard CryptoServer CS50

These allow the calculation of up to 100 and 500 RSA signatures per second respectively. Both models are available as PCI cards, which are suitable for all common PC and server architectures, and as 19’’ network appliances, which are ideal for use in computer centers.
