SafeGuard Enterprise 5.3 Broadens Integration Opportunities on Utimaco’s Flagship Encryption Platform

Foxboro, US/ Oberursel, Germany, June 23, 2008 / Utimaco – The Data Security Company, today announced further expansion of its leading SafeGuard Enterprise 5.3 with the release of a new management API designed to improve ease-of-use and accelerate standard tasks for enterprise security administrators. The new management API helps organizations gain unprecedented levels of operational efficiency and lowers operating costs by providing comprehensive central security management functionality designed to manage an enterprise-wide information protection system.

The complexity of enterprise security environments varies greatly based on an organization’s industry, information security policies and regional regulatory requirements. With the new management API, organizations can now quickly and easily integrate the best-in-class information protection of SafeGuard Enterprise into their existing security infrastructure and automate periodic or cumbersome administrative tasks. Customers can access free, pre-scripted APIs allowing administrators to quickly and effectively deploy the new APIs rather than spending valuable time and resources creating the scripts individually.

The management API also enables Utimaco partners to provide added value to customers by offering a close, customized integration with the customer’s infrastructure and business processes. This enables partners to identify additional revenue sources while simultaneously providing end customers a customized solution to implement requested features and processes.

By automating these processes, the API allows organizations to reduce the likelihood of errors that can result in time consuming manual administration and management, and risk to critical enterprise data. SafeGuard Enterprise 5.3 central management API automates tasks such as directory operations and data import from Active Directory, user-/machine assignment, key assignment to user-/machine, certificate and token management, log- inventory- and report-processing and challenge/response helpdesk.
