Technical Support Engineer (m/f/x)

Your tasks

  • Meet our clients and ensure smooth and uninterrupted Utimaco services by offering technical advice and solutions;
  • Ensure professional resolution of Utimaco related issues as the technical contact person for customers and partners;
  • Support customers, provide technical support by answering calls and emails in line with departmental measures with a focus on high quality;
  • Resolve problems by monitoring and maintaining the LI & DR solutions systems and networks within an organization in a technical support role;
  • Collaborate closely with our development team;
  • Contribute to the planning, development, and maintenance of communication devices;
  • Get involved with winning new business, solution deployments and projects delivery;
  • Report project status on a regular basis;
  • Required to join an out-of-hours 24x7 on call service.

Your profile

  • Academic degree in a technical discipline with professional experience as an IT specialist, ideally as Support Engineer;
  • Experience with business critical live systems and understanding of the role and responsibilities of a 3rd line engineer;
  • Good technical understanding of network and IT security with experience to undertake communication system integration, test and acceptance activities to support telecommunication systems;
  • Confident dealing with system stakeholders at all levels of the business and able to explain with clarity and accuracy to both technical and non-technical audience;
  • Comfortable talking about network typologies;
  • Experience with the following technologies are a plus: 4G, LTE, 3G, RedHat7, Postgres databases, C++, Shell, Python, Ansible, hardware (server, firewall and switch setup, configuration);
  • Ability to recognize and understand our partner and customer needs;
  • Collaborative, solution-oriented and conscientious way of working, self-motivated, enthusiastic, but risk aware;
  • UK Security Check (SC) clearance is mandatory;
  • Fluent in English both oral and written;
  • Willing to travel for support and customer management.
